Youth Ministry

Often we hear well meaning folks say, “Young people are the church of tomorrow!” We at Great Commission Baptist Church of Blair, Nebraska do not believe that sentiment is correct. We feel that YOUNG PEOPLE ARE THE CHURCH OF TODAY! We back that up by continually seeking opportunities to reach the young people in our church, as well as in the community, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We try to give them opportunities to participate in our various church functions. As our resources allow, our church is committed to reaching out to all of our county’s young people.

Our Youth Ministry seeks to help young people grow physically, spiritually, and in social interaction with others. We teach our young people how to discern between right and wrong, and to look to the Bible as their final authority. We teach biblical principles and how to apply them to their daily lives. We emphasize the importance of a daily devotional time, church attendance, witnessing and memorization of Scripture. We teach the young people the importance of appearance and right actions and provide many events for them through out the year that will help them learn how to relate to their peers and enjoy life in a safe and godly environment. We believe that young people should be actively involved in the ministries of the church.

  1. Please pray for Collin Peterson who has a rare aortic/heart cancer. This had metastic from pancreatic cancer in which God had graciously healed. Billy Peterson was a strong proud warrior for God and is questioning his faith not understanding God’s plans for his brother. Thank you and your church for this. James 5:16
